Canvas

Canvas for Woodbury Parents
What is Canvas? It is a learning management system that students will use to learn about assignments, take quizzes, and even participate in live classes. Canvas is not just a vehicle for teachers to deliver instruction, but it can be used to assess learning with built-in quizzes. In addition to loading assignments, teachers can even run live classes. Students can participate in online discussions, submit their work, and learn about their grades. Indeed, Canvas syncs with Infinite Campus, the program students usually use for checking their schedule and grades.
We invite you to be involved with your child’s education by becoming a Canvas observer. Are you ready? This way this works is that you will open a parent’s Canvas account and pair it with your child’s account. Before beginning the process, your child will first need to get you a pairing code. Your child can visit tinyurl.com/canvaspaircode for directions on how to do this. Once you have the pair code, follow the below steps.
- Go to woodbury.instructure.com or do a Google search for “Canvas CCSD”
- Click where it reads Need a Canvas Account? Click Here, It’s Free!
- Click where it reads Parents sign-up here
- Enter your name, email address, password, and the student pairing code
- Press the Start Participating button
If you get stuck, contact Mrs. C. Young or Book Master Dwyer, our school’s Canvas Controllers. You can access their contact info on the Woodbury Team page. Anyone new to Canvas should take the Canvas Orientation. There are some useful links below to help parents get started.
